Creating memorable back to school traditions

Twas the Night Before School Starts

Kids all over will be headed back to school before we know it.  This series is intended to create meaningful moments for families as they head back to the classroom.  This first part of this series is about the actual night before school starts.

Kids Pick the Menu

Kids Pick the Menu

Let them pick meals for the whole day or just dinner.  Letting them know you care about what is happening to them, whether they are over the moon to get back and see their friends or a little nervous as they transition to a new classroom or school will make that transition easier for them.

If you are able to pick your kids up on their first day of school, make sure your smart phone is fully charged or bring a video camera to give your kids their First Day of School Exit Interview.  Ask them some of the questions above or whatever questions come naturally.  Do it right away as soon as you can after school.  It’s so fun to look back on past years and see how they change.  They make a fun compilation for a graduation party too!

Hi, so glad you are here!

Every day has a celebration! Some days celebrate a certain food, idea, or activity. Sometimes a day is set aside to remember or to increase awareness of a need. Each and every day should be celebrated by spending time with family and friends enjoying whatever time we are given.
